GOVERNOR UMAHI, POLITICAL PREDATORS AND THE REST OF US!

One truth about Nigerian politics is that most of our political elites always look forward to money sharing as they support candidates' for political positions. They may not voice it, but at the back of their minds, the sharing of money hangs rapaciously.

As far as these political elites are concerned, the masses can go to blazes. So long as allocations keep coming to a round table for sharing they don't give a hoot whether the state is developed or not and whether the masses were empowered or not. Their own is to feather their nest in all directions at the expense of the state and the masses and smile ostentatiously to the bank. Chief Gani Faweihinmi describes them metaphorically as political predators.

If Governor Umahi had not emasculated their filthy hands and blocked the conduits through which they equally siphoned our exchequer, our collective patrimony would have been aggressively raked to stupor and we would have still remained in the denigrating and derisive doldrums of primitivity and the humiliating phrase of dust of the nation.

Man is by nature capricious and this explains his ability to praise and blame at different times. If Governor Umahi had thrown our patrimony open to political predators, they will be hailing him now he is in power, but after power they will be blaming him for sharing moneys that could have been used to develop the state regardless of the fact that they were the criminal beneficiaries. So, it is better to be castigated for not sharing money when in power than to share money and be blamed thereafter for not developing the state.

When we side our dear Governor and support him and the policies of the state, it is because he  places his priorities right and  sidelines predators thereby ploughing our moneys into the development of our dear State for the betterment of the masses and even the predators.

Yet, these predators are angry with the Governor's uncompromising stance against heist of whatever guise even when they are the greatest beneficiaries of the infrastructures built by the Governor particularly as car owners and money bags. But one day they will certainly acknowledge the fact that Governor Umahi did so much in the development of Ebonyi State.

Leaders like Governor Umahi who don't give room to the pillaging of state resources are called "stingy" and opposed by malevolent capitalists who desire to keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer in a class stratified society such as ours.

Hence, out of frustration, having failed to get the Governor to "share the money" for five years particularly now that it has become a total mortal impossibility to do so as Governor Umahi has joined the APC, these predators have resorted to spewing  concoctions of allegations on the Governor that he transferred billions of naira to his company from Ebonyi State treasury even when he was Deputy Governor thereby kite-flying falsehood in the face of facts.

Most Nigerian politicians play opposition politics mainly when they are disgruntled. Cases abound and justified anyway because politics is a game of interests. But then, the interest  becomes selfish when you personalize it like these predators who openly lament that they stopped following Governor Umahi because they were "not well treated", meaning the Governor wasn't doing Father Christmas for them by sharing state allocation at the expense of the State and at the detriment of Ebonyians. That's individualized, egocentric and egoistic greedy interest; that's the way of political predators.

In case these predators do not know; Governor Umahi is President Buhari's kind of leader. He is the type of leader Mr. President desires to succeed him because he too is aggressively  aversed to sharing of money and highly committed to zero tolerance for corruption.

Our support for our dear Governor will continue to soar no matter the evil tendencies of political predators because he demonstrates awesome courage against the evil forces who have been holding our dear state backwards for decades.

*Governor Umahi must succeed.*

*Ebonyi State must be developed.*

*Evil men must be put to shame.*

May God continue to guide, protect and bless our dear Governor; Amen!
