ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, IMO STATE PRESS STATEMENT APC FELICITATES WITH RT. HON. KENNEDY IBEH ON HIS EMERGENCE AS SPEAKER, IMO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ...CALLS FOR RENEWED LEGISLATIVE ZEAL AND COMMITMENT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE

 

The All Progressives Congress, APC Imo State, under the chairmanship of Hon. Sir Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, Ph.D has felicitated with Rt. Hon. Barr. Kennedy Ibeh, member representing the enterprising people of Obowo State constituency on his emergence as the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.

The party while hailing the choice of Rt. Hon. Ibeh, a seasoned parliamentarian, experienced technocrat and upward mobile political activist by majority of his colleagues to lead the legislative arm of government, as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly at a time like this, described the development as both divine, strategic and political expedient.

The party however, called on the new speaker to provide the needed legislative leadership, cohesion and harmony that will provide an enabling environment for the business of the house to strive for the good and best interest of Imo people. Furthermore, it is the desire of our great party, that the new leadership of the House will further strengthen the relationship of the three arms of government, particularly the executive-legislative relationship to complement the people oriented policies and programmes of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the executive governor of the state as encapsulated under the 3R mantra of his administration, without undermining the principles of separation of power.

Furthermore, the party appreciates and commend the immediate past Speaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem for his examplary and uncommon demonstration of spirit of sportsmanship over his promise to support the new leadership. We therefore implore all and sundry to take advantage of this rare and peaceful change of baton to renew their legislative commitment to their respective constituencies in particular and the state in general.

Finally, we wish to thank the governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for always providing leadership that focuses on stability, statecraft and rule of law at all times.

Imo must be Recovered, Rehabilitated and Reconstructed!!
