GOVERNOR UZODIMMA FELICITATES WITH ANGLICAN DIOCESES OF EGBU ON THEIR 9TH SYNOD REQUESTS THEM TO CONTINUALLY REMEMBER IMO STATE IN PRAYERS.

 


His Excellency the Executive Governor of Imo State Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has facilitated with the Anglican Dioceses of Egbu on their Second Session of the 9th Synod with the Theme:  ‘’I have Given You an Example” (John 13:15) held at St John’s Anglican Church Naze Owerri North LGA, Imo State.


In his message at the closing ceremony marked with a church service, the Governor who was represented by His Special Adviser on Religious Affairs The Very Rev. Chidi Nwanebu, requested the Synod to continue to pray for the State to come out of the several challenges especially the insecurity and its resultant effects.


The Governor said that the above is necessary because ‘’Governors will come and Go, problems will come and go, but Imo State will remain’’. He therefore asked the congregation not to allow anybody or group of people to destroy the State and pleaded with all to put hands together to salvage the State.


The Governor promised to continue in his effort towards improved road network as soon as the rains subside, reiterating that he will definitely leave Imo State better than he met it, as his legacies will judge him when he leaves office as Governor of Imo State.


He prayed for the success of the Synod, noting that he had been praying for the Bishop Of Diocese of Egbu His Lordship Rt Rev Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okoroafor and made a cash Donation of N10million (Ten Million Naira) to the Diocese.


Responding the Bishop of Egbu Diocese Rt Rev. Geoffrey Okoroafor thanked the Governor for honouring their invitation and pledged to continue to pray for the Governor and Imo State in general.


Highlight of the program was special prayer for the Governor by His Lordship Rt Rev Bright Ogu (Rtd) the Anglican Bishop of Mbaise.


The Special Adviser on Religious Affairs was accompanied on the representation by the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor Mr Oguwike Nwachuku.
