The Management of Imo State Consumer Protection Council (CPC) led by its Director General, Hon. Mrs Obioma Okafor, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Board Chairman of Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), Lady Dr Ada Okwuonu.
The visit was part of CPC's strategic efforts to strengthen collaboration and partnership with other government agencies towards deeping consumer education as well as ensure effective protection of consumer's rights in the state.
The DG used the opportunity to brief the Board Chairman, Lady Ada Okwuonu on the proposal for the Special Consumer Education project. A programme for all the primary schools in Imo State, captioned, 'shared prosperity catch them young Initiative' with the aim to educate the pupils on the basic consumer rights.
There will be a debate competition with a star prize for the best performed primary school in imo State.
In her response, the board chairman of IMSUBEB, Lady Dr Ada Okwuonu said her leadership is committed to partner with any Government agency or well meaning Nigerians to ensure that all the children in imo state have access to basic education which is part and parcel of Governor Hope Uzodimma's shared prosperity administration, which anchores in 3R mantra of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery.
