Two prominent Ikeduru sons and former candidates for Ikeduru state assembly seat in the 2023 general elections, Dr Obinna Obi-Njoku Jnr and Chief Henry Igbokwe, have met in London recently where they appraised the progress of the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government in Imo and Ikeduru Local Government Area, and
unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Hope Uzodinma administration in the state.
At the meeting, the duo of Dr Obi-Njoku Jr and Chief Igbokwe cited the governor's sterling performance so far, and agreed to work for an international collaboration to support the governor and APC.
The meeting which deliberated on the numerous achievements and giant strides so far made by the 3R Government of Governor Uzodinma especially, in the area of roads and other infrastructure, came to the conclusion that:
"The capacity Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma and the LGA Chairman, Rt. Hon. Justice Nze, the fomer Deputy Governor, HE, Prof. Placid Njoku, the Operational Leader of Owerri Zone, Prince Charls Amadi ( Charlvon), the LGA party chairman, Chief Dr. Remi Onyewuchi and other well-meaning leaders in Ikeduru have done well so far, and therefore deserve commendation."
Dr Obi-Njoku Jr and Chief Igbokwe used the opportunity provided by the meeting to set up Ikeduru APC annex in diaspora with the promise to galvanise support towards the development of the party and Ikeduru LGA.
The meeting called for international collaboration towards mobilising support for Governor Uzodinma's massive developmental strides in the state, as well as for sustaining the electoral successes of the party.
The meeting pointed out that Ikeduru LGA had benefited significantly from Governor Uzodinma administration in terms of appointments and infrastructure, most especially the reconstruction of Owerri-Okigwe road by the governor which put to an end, the Ekemele Akabo flooding that had made movement difficult before Governor Uzodinma's coming on board in January 2020.
