The frontline APC governorship aspirant in the November 6 Anambra State election and the Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr George Moghalu has congratulated the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi) on the occasion of his 80th birthday as well as his 19th year anniversary of enthronement as the Obi of Onitsha.
Dr George Moghalu, in a statement made available to the media, described the monarch as a seasoned leader and great custodian of Igbo culture who has used his knowledge, and experience to bring about oneness among the traditional rulers in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
The former National Auditor of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC revealed that Igwe Achebe remains a strong bridge through which Igbos connect to other regions in Nigeria.
"We are proud of Agbogidi, as an insightful leader who continues to make great exploits in development of Igbo culture and traditions. I want to celebrate a peacemaker and administrator who has charted a lasting path for progressive improvement and development in the affairs and fortunes of Onitsha Kingdom, and Igbo nation. His sacrifice, selfless leadership style made him a great leader, he said.
Dr George Moghalu said Igwe Achebe has displayed a high degree of dedication while contributing his quota to the growth and development of Anambra State and Nigeria in general.
