The age long advice for leaders to lead by example can never be over emphasized. The best way to lead is to first show your followers how to do what you want them to do.
Eugenio Montale once observed that you get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself. A leader is one who knows where he wants to go, knows the road and gets up to go there.
So when His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma shows leadership by motivating people to invest in quality road projects, for the use of the common man, it is coming from a leader who have shown how it is done.
The number and quality of completed road projects commissioned by the governor in that last few months, and those to be commissioned soon, indicates a leader who is in a hurry to reduce and if possible completely eradicate the suffering of the masses in moving from one destination to another.
Governor Uzodinma, while inspecting the Prince Alex Mbata 3KM road with dual drainage built by *Prince Alex Mbata*, a private citizen of the state, stated, "Pick any road in Imo state, build it to standard like Prince Alex Mbata did, I will come and commission it and name it after you."
That is a powerful way to encourage others who desire to participate and partner with the Shared Prosperity government in changing the narrative as far as infrastructural provision is concerned in the state.
Imolities are grateful that even when the opposition wanted to politicize it, *Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri*, of the Board of Nigerian Railway Corporation had this to say, "Anybody criticising that world class Prince Alex Mbata road, the humongous altruism and public spirit behind it, the gesture of commissioning and or recommissioning that signature project by Imo State Government authority, is to say the least civilly dead, unknowing and deserving of brain reprogramming. Everything is not politics."
Leadership is the use of gentle persuasion to accomplish pre-determined objectives in other to achieve a common goal and Governor Hope Uzodinma is doing justice to it.
