The Eastern Heartland is doubtlessly reputed nationally and beyond, as the Las Vegas of Nigeria with its' very inviting, gratifying and never seen before leisure and entertainments.
Owerri, the capital city, for a long time now, has tenaciously held the tourism flag as the Primus inter peres (first amongst equals) and has remained the most talked about, visited and explored relaxation hub, East of the Niger.
The mouth watering cuisines, galaxy of hotels and highly sophisticated lounges, have indeed turned the City into an incredibly attractive nectar, drawing persons from and within Nigeria and beyond.
As at today, virtually most of the Igbo billionaires have one magnificent investment or edifice in most parts of Owerri.
Nightlife in Owerri is simply second to none and a spectacle to behold with its unimaginable huge potentials, to both investors and business minded individuals.
The horrifying breakdown of law and order, recently, has rabidly exposed the umbilical Nexus that exits between collective security and shared prosperity.
To properly situate this concept, it is imperative we note briefly how a quick but unrestrained descent into anarchy witnessed in Owerri just recently and the crunching financial punch on almost all sectors of the Owerri economy.
The brazen madness of a few unpatriotic elements, have brought huge human and financial losses; which partly left Owerri city to something akin to post war ruins.
For fondling with our collective security, either as a result of political correctness or any other mundane sentiment, our shared prosperity was bruised with different aspect of the society battling with one form of loss or the other.
The important lesson to note is that our actions and inactions can either guarantee a Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) or Mutual Assured Prosperity (MAP).
Going forward, Ndi-Imo, irrespective of our party sentiments, must come together to ensure that we have a State that works for all of us. Supporting the Shared Prosperity vision of the constitutionally recognized Governor of Imo State, is a civic duty geared towards a better Imo.
As it stands, only a positive minded collective responsibility towards collective security that can guarantee shared prosperity for all.
May God Almighty give us the right mindset and imbued us with the Ubuntu philosophy of "I am because we are."
Let's appreciate that we are all we have. Shared Prosperity is the rave of the moment and Imo is our only home.
