The entire APC G.R.A ward executives in Owerri Municipal today passed a vote of confidence on the Leadership prowess of the APC Chairman of Owerri Municipal , Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim , while at the same time consolidating their resolve to vote him in for the same position come September 4th.
The meeting which was held at the premises of IMO international conference center , had the ward Chairman Mr. Awa Uka tell the executives present that it is a matter of obligation that the 27 ward executives vote in Hon. Onyekachi who is from the ward . He added that since Hon. Onyekachi took over the mantle of APC politics in Owerri Municipal , members and executives of G.R.A ward have benefitted immensely from him via the attraction government largesse and empowerment . Mr. Awa said Hon. Onyekachi is a man that satisfies the interest of others first before remembering his , and so charged the remaining 10 ward executives in Owerri Municipal to join hands in ensuring Hon. Onyekachi doesn't loose a single vote in the September 4th LGA Congress .
In his remark , The Owerri zonal APC New Media Director General Comr. Julian Chijioke who was present at the maiden meeting of the GRA ward executives asked the newly constituted set of ward Leaders to eschew all forms of bitterness and rancor amongst them and vigorously work for the interest of the party . The New Media DG who is also from GRA , charged his fellow executives to make GRA ward the pride of all other wards in the state as the ward houses the state's seat of power . Comr. Chijioke went further to add feather to the admonitions by the G.R.A ward Chairman , by saying that any executive found missing come September 4th except on health grounds should be considered the odd one who lacks all iota of gratitude .
Other executives who were unanimous in their stand asked the ward Chairman to relay to Hon. Onyekachi to relax as his victory at the LGA congress is non negotiable .
Highlight of the meeting was a "vote of confidence" session passed on Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim which was presided over by the assistant youth Leader of the ward Mr. Nkemdirim Uzoamaka .
