As a government agency, saddled with the responsibilities of protecting the interest of Consumers in the state, we used this opportunity to call on the oil marketers in the state to engage the state government in a dialogue, rather than face-off in the interest of the Consumers.
Strikes does not only affect the government, but it also disrupts the entire system and encourages increase in the price of other commodities in the market, thereby making life unbearable for the masses.
Industrial disputes between government and trade unions is not new in our political system, but needs to be averted by all possible means, at this time of economic recession and obvious austerity.
On this note, we appeal to IPMAN Imo state chapter, to devise other means of channelling their grievances other than holding millions of imolites and Nigerians to ransom. We strongly believe that our dynamic governor, His Excellency Dist. Senator Hope Uzodimma will not allow the strike to degenerate into an indefinite one.
We also want to assure the general public that the shared prosperity government, ably led by Senator Hope Uzodimma, is aware of the sufferings of the masses occasioned by this strike and he's not relenting in his efforts to bring the situation under control.
