According to Toderick R Miller "great things happen when we stop dreaming what could be, and start working on what we want to see. Destiny is the reward of dreamers who become doers".
Optimistically, delay is not denial. Whatever belongs to you remain yours forever. For destiny can only be delayed, it cannot be changed. And the encumbrances encountered in pursuit of justice is a lesson but not the major concern; the utmost concern is the eventual success or victory.
Injustice was birthed and the mandates/opinions of the people in Ikwo) Ezza- South federal constituency thwarted as Comrade Chinedu Ogah (Ikuku Oma 1 of Amagu Ikwo) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who contested to represent the constituency in the National Assembly was rigged out by the opponent, Mr Lazarus Ogbee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Comrade Ogah being a law abiding citizen who knows his rights, sought redress in the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abakaliki, and on 9th of September 2019, he (Comrade Ogah) was declared the rightful winner of the election. And Mr Ogbee who was already enjoying some months as the rigged-in representative of the said constituency, challenged the judgement of the Tribunal, hence he appealed.
On this day, last year (1st November, 2019), the Appeal Court sitting in Enugu affirmed the victory of Comrade Ogah at the Tribunal and ordered the INEC to immediately issue Certificate of Return to him. Therefore, Ogbee was sacked and on 19th November, 2019, Hon (Chief) Comrade Ogah, OON was sworn in as the Member, House of Representatives, representing Ezza South/Ikwo constituency. He's the only person who won election under the APC.
As an altruistic lawmaker who has the interests of his Constituents at heart, Comrade Ogah after few days of swearing in, moved his first motion; calling on Federal Government to quickly intervene in the communal crises that have rocked some communities in his Constituency. He requested the Federal Government to provide grants and social programmes for the victims. He also wrote the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to immediately provide relief materials to the victims of the crises and flood in his Constituency. Last year, the relief materials as well as cash were distributed to the victims.
Indubitably, Comrade Ogah has sponsored over Eight (13) Bills, moved 14 motions and 5 Petitions.
This outstanding lawmaker has achieved a lot and this made him the most loved politician in Ebonyi state and the whole South East of Nigeria such that his name is now a song in the lips of the masses including the members of both the APC and PDP. Indeed, he has done what others could not do and thus written his name in gold. Within a year in office, he has attracted over 500 Federal jobs to the people especially the youths; paid for the 2020 WAEC registration fees for over 800 indigent students; distributed over 10 cars, distributed over 355 motorcycles, 60 Tricycles and Garri Grinding/Processing Machines to his constituents; distributed over 2,000 Wrappers, food items and cash to the downtrodden mostly widows; awarded Scholarships to over 50 tertiary students from the constituency; paid hospital bills worth millions of Naira for numerous indigent patients; sponsored the training of hundreds of his constituents in skill acquisitions; donated transformers to various villages; construction of roads and bridges in different areas in within the constituency, etc.
Convincingly, we appreciate and thank God for the gift of Hon. Ogah in piloting the affairs of Ikwo/ Ezza-South Federal Constituency, especially for his unrelenting effort in attending to the needs of the people placed under his care and to Ebonyi State in general.
Being that as it may, having witnessed numerous humanitarian services and developmental works of Hon. Ogah, we equally suggest better positions be given to him to occupy to enable him extend hands to a larger audience. This is because, from every indication and his uncountable employment and empowerment to the graduates, there won't be available graduate to employ into the Federal civil service in no distant future.
To this end, it is our collective prayer and wish that the good Lord who called you from the beginning will continue to bring you to limelight and greater heights in your political career and protect you throughout your tenure as member House of Representatives. Ride on the people's Comrade, Kudos the people's Honorable. Thank you for your performances and outstanding representation.
