The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council chairman for the Ngor Okpala state constituency by-election Chief Sir Henry Njoku (IKEOHA of Ngor Okpala) have reinstated his confidence on the victory of the party come 26th february 2022.
IKEOHA made this declaration at the grand finale of the campaign held on thursday 24th February at Ntu in Ngor Okpala Local Government area of Imo State.
In his speech, he averred that the PDP have represented Ngor Okpala since 1999 at all level of legislation yet, they have nothing to show for it pointing out that a child born in 1999 should be twenty three years old today and ought to have matured and grown but noted with regreats the stunted growth of Ngor Okpala.
He opined that Ngor Okpala have been grossly marginalized and under developed under PDP representation necessitated by godfatherism and imposition of representative by someone who wants to ensure that Ngor Okpala remains in perpetual bondage.
The Ulakwo Owerri North born business mogul cum politician opined that APC have come to liberate the people of Ngor Okpala from bondage, shackles of bad representation and political dungeon adding that APC have come to wipe away the tears in their eyes and heal the wounds inflicted on them by the past representations of the failed PDP reign.
He further asserted that APC have come to right the wrongs of the PDP failed representation adding that Ngor Okpala needs to be integrated in the political mainstream of Imo state house of assembly and the nation at large, and it is only APC led government of Imo State that can offer such opportunity as he assured them that Blyden Amajirionwu will regain and restore all that they have lost over the years.
He stressed on the need for Ngor Okpala people not to have a state legislature who is an opposition to the state government because they have a whole lot to benefit if their representative is a member of the ruling party.
Futhermore on the issue of the past representations of PDP, he opined that PDP needs to apologize to Ngor Okpala people for not being able to attract dividends of democracy to them after twenty three years adding that it is unheard of that some part of Ngor Okpala are still in darkness since their lifetime and more worrisome that after producing the number six citizen of the nation who served for twelve years at the national assembly, he could not ameliorate their sufferings and attract democracy dividend to the people which further demonstrates their thirst and passion for misrule.
IKEOHA added that, "As if imposing a house of Representative member who is currently serving a second term on Ngor Okpala without any achievement was not enough for them; they imposed a state house member who was never seen at plenary sessions or carrying out oversight functions which landed us to where we are today".
He advised them not to allow the imposition of another sculpture like representative stressing that PDP is expected to apologize to them for all the harm done to them and hide their faces in shame.
He concluded that APC is the only party that can guarantee their interest at the state and national level while he urged them to grab the opportunity with both hands as he pointed out that they will regain all their losses under the PDP misrule.
In his words, the Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma stated that the shared prosperity government have come to Ngor Okpala because today’s event can be likened to the parable of the lost shepherd amongst one hundred but ninety nine was abandoned in search for just one.
He stated that God Blessed Imo State with great potentials and natural endowment and these endowments being subdivided into two sources being oil & gas and agriculture stressing that Ngor Okpala people is blessed with both.
He stated that their is no tangible evidence to show that Ngor Okpala is part of the democracy since the annals of democratic return.
Onwa Imo noted that Ngor Okpala is an oil producing local government stating regrettably that the oil well in Ngor Okpala is connected to over twenty five kilometer pipeline to River State through which it’s being siphoned and nobody challenged it adding that he will recover the oil wells haven won at both high and appeal courts.
The Governor stated that he will use the resources in the land to develop the area pointing out that Ngor Okpala have been earmarked as an industrial hub for the 1.3 billion dollar grant from the African development bank for investment in agro-industry.
Senator Uzodinma reiterated that the problem of unemployment will be solved through preventive measures by engaging the youths not just as Laborers but employers of labor.
He stressed that his administration will come up with a comprehensive enumeration of youths in Imo State and initiate an employment policy that will provide jobs for those who have graduated and new opportunities for those waiting to graduate.
He opined that a fifteen years development plan will be put in place for Imo sons and daughters adding that a scholarship board will be constituted to train our youths in highly specialized areas which training opportunities are not available locally.
He further stated that the hope and future of Imo people lies in the youths while assuring them of the sincerity of APC under the leadership of the shared prosperity government and sincerity of the legislative under his guardian.
He noted that his government will provide a catalyst that will make Blyden Amajirionwu have something to show before the next election despite the fact that he is entering the field of play at an injury time as he affirmed to Ngor Okpala people and guaranteed that a vote for Amajirionwu come 26th February 2022 is their direct contact to the national grid.
In their various speeches, the state chairman of the party Macdonald Ebere (P.hd), the speaker of Imo State house of assembly Hon Kenneddy Ibe, the member representing Okigwe South and North Federal constituencies Rt Hon Chike Okafor and Rt Hon Princess Miriam Onuoha as well as the Senator representing Imo North senatorial district in the National Assembly Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim opined that they have not come for a jamboree but to ensure that Ngor Okpala gets what is due to her in the state assembly through Hon Blyden Amajirionwu.
They noted that Ngor Okpala State constituency seat is today recovered through the candidature of Amajirionwu pointing out that the joint legislatures of Imo State house of assembly and APC National Assembly members of Imo State extraction will ensure that the olive branch is extended to Ngor Okpala because Blyden Amajirionwu is part of them and his constituency cannot be left behind in the distribution of dividends of democracy.
