Asaba - the State secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was on Wednesday 16th Feb. 2022 filled to capacity when APC faithfuls in their numbers across the 25 Local Government Areas turned out en masse to grace the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected Delta State Executives
Elder Omene Arouture Sobotie took his oath of office and later administered the oath of office to other elected officers amidst wild jubilation.
In his opening speech, Elder Omene Arouture Sobotie thanked Party faithfuls for their steadfastness and absolute commitment to the party. He told the mammoth gathering that in 2023 APC led government would produce the next governor of Delta State.
According to Elder Omene, "I have an unusual grace that gives me victory wherever I go and by God's Grace APC would be in Government house come 2023".
He further posited that, he knew Senator Peter Nwaoboshi right from their University days and politically, they have recorded electoral victories till date. He described the combination of His Excellency, Senator Barr Ovie Omo-Agege the "Obarisi of Urhobo land" and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi popularly known as the "Oracle" as a wonderful pair that would give victory to a lame Party, let a lone, APC that is a ruling Party.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, debunked the rumour that he's a spy in APC that is planted in APC and in no distant time he would leave the party. Senator Nwaoboshi told the August gathering that he's too big to be a special adviser, Commissioner or Board member to a Governor in Delta State. He said he's happy as APC member and he would stand by His Excellency, Senator Barr Ovie Omo-Agege to liberate Delta state.
According to him the era of registering animals and declaring false results in an election is over and expressed absolute confidence on the ability of His Excellency, Senator Barr Ovie Omo-Agege who was once a Secretary to the State Government as a man that fully understand the intrigues of elections in Delta State to defeat the PDP led Government come 2023.
A thunderous ovation rented the air when His Excellency, Senator Barr Ovie Omo-Agege took the stage with a worship song " what shall I say unto the Lord all I have to say is thank you Lord" and it was chorused by the audience with praises.
His Excellency said it is only an activist that can forego his means of livelihood and be in Asaba on this Wednesday for this ceremony. He Congratulated the newly inaugurated State Excos led by Elder Omene Arouture Sobotie and also reminded them of the enormous task ahead.
He encouraged the state chairman to extend the Olive Branch and put aside every differences they have in the past and also reach out to some of our aggrieved members who equally have right to aspire to any political offices and said and I quote "the more we are the merrier we are"
The Deputy President of the Senate further assured party faithfuls present that there is no cause for alarm, that he's fully prepared for the battle ahead. He encouraged everyone present to be committed as God has given the glory to APC to lead Delta state to greater heights.
The Law maker opined that he has a secret for the audience and the secret is that APC would win presidential election 2023, that those who decamped from the party are haters as described in the biblical terms.
He asserted that there is no election trick that is privy to other political party alone in Delta state.
The DSP seized the opportunity to congratulate Chairmen of the 25 local Government Area that were inaugurated some months ago.
