*APC-USA and Tinubu Support Groups to rally for Tinubu in New York*
Leaders and members of APC-USA and Tinubu Support Groups have made strong preparations to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to New York when he attends the United Nations General Assembly next week.
In a phone interview session today, September 13, 2023, with the National Secretary and the National Publicity Secretary of APC USA Chapter, Hon. Feyi Tijani and Dr. Ismaila Maigyara, respectively, concerning the invitation to Nigerians to participate in the rally to welcome President Tinubu, the party leaders explained that the National Chairman of APC-USA, Professor Adesegun Labinjo, members of many support groups, and community leaders in New York and New Jersey are excited to welcome the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to New York.
Hon Tijani explained that “APC-USA, under the chairmanship of Professor Labinjo, has a long history with the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that dated back to Alliance for Democracy (AD). From AD, we followed the President to Action Congress (AC), from AC to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and from ACN to All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013. Also, we have, over the past 20 years, worked closely with the President’s close allies and leaders like Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, Hon Abike Dabiri, many past and current governors, and other leaders and members of the party”.
Hon Tijani said that APC-USA contributed immensely to the campaign and election of President Tinubu and had made commitments to continue to support his administration in all areas necessary.
Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of APC USA Chapter, Dr Ismaila Maigyara, said that all Nigerians are invited to rally in honour of Mr President and welcome him to New York on Wednesday, September 20, in front of the Nigeria House located at 828 2nd Avenue, New York, NY, 10017 at 4:00 PM. Dr Maigyara called on Nigerians to come together to support the President and his renewed hope agenda, which he believes will lead to the rapid development of Nigeria.
Dr Maigyara warned APC leaders and members of the public against some unscrupulous, dishonest and dishonourable individuals who are out to manipulate them and collect their hard-earned money by planting high-level deception to corporate bodies, individuals and groups who unknowingly may fall for their tricks and deceptions. Dr Maigyara referred to a recent publication by Punch Newspaper and Sahara Reporters on September 12 credited to one Balofin, who made spurious and bogus pronouncements that were purely unfounded to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The said Balofin is not a member of APC but a PDP agent. He has been a member of PDP all his life. He specializes in forming one-man bogus support group during election seasons to extort and make money from unsuspecting Nigerian politicians.
Dr Maigyara reiterated the need for investigative, credible and responsible journalism and that journalists and Nigerians should desist from the old ways of being bought and used for junk and fake political propaganda.
Dr Maigyara reassured that the rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the necessary approval and permit of the New York City Police Department and was planned with good intent to promote Nigeria's image and unity.
Dr. Maigyara thanked Chief Emeka Molokwu, Hon Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, Hon Folashade Olumo, Hon Bisoye Oladejo, Hon Ololade Elulade (ELOT BABA), Prince Henry Adesanya, Mr. Adeleke Lamoriyu, Mr. Ayo Olashege, Professor Adesegun Labinjo and Honorable Dele Alade for their work and support for the rally.
