PRESS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR SPECIAL ADVISER-YOUTH AFFAIRS IMO STATE GOVERNMENT INSECURITY: MBAISE YOUTH JOINT TASKFORCE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO SPECIAL ADVISER ON YOUTH AFFAIRS,HON ERIC UWAKWE ON A SECURITY PATTERNSHIP.

 


The Youths of Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise and Ezinihite Mbaise Local Government under the auspices of Mbaise youth joint taskforce,MJTF paid a courtesy visit to the special adviser on youth affairs to the Executive Governor of imo state, Hon Eric uwakwe,on Tuesday 11,2021.

One of the objectives of the visit was to patterner with the special Adviser on youth affairs to foster and strengthen the security in Imo state and to identify with the Special adviser on his vision and giant developmental strides among the youths of the state. 

Another key objective of the visit was to pledge their support to the 3R shared prosperity Government led by His Excellency most distinguished sen. Hope  uzodimma to help in fighting insecurity and crime within the state .

The delegation was led by the chairman,HRH Eze-elect Eke leo and the Secretary hon.Chinedu

The meeting which started at about 2.15pm had the Mbaise youth joint taskforce delegation warmly received by the Special adviser , Hon Eric uwakwe and some members of his staff at Imo youth centers,owerri on behalf of the Executive Governor of the state.  Hon Eric uwakwe, in his welcome remarks, appreciated the team for the visit, and thereafter introduced the members of his staff present at the meeting, and warmly welcomed the Mbaise nation delegation via a formal introduction and acknowledgement of each person and by personally going round to have  a handshake with every member of the Team.

In his opening speech, the Chairman of the mbaise youth joint taskforce,HRH Eke leo, thanked the Special Adviser, Hon Eric uwakwe, for honouring the Council request to pay a Courtesy call on him and for the very warm reception accorded the delegation.


He further noted that the Youths of mbaise was very mindful of the busy nature of the office of His Excellency, and accordingly considered the honour of the visit to be a clear and unambiguous manifestation of the high esteem in which the Governor holds the leadership of the state and seriously fighting insecurity and crimes,and uses the opportunity to pledge their patternship with the Governor through his special adviser with his administration in his untiring quest to deliver good governance and foster security to the good people of Imo State.


                                                                  Continuing, he stated that although the Governor had only been in office for one year and now, the Mbaise nation had seen his dynamism in the various interventions put in place to address the security challenges facing the people of Imo State. While commending the Governor for the bold steps, he admonished him to keep up the level of political will in order to remain consistent.


The Chairman of the taskforce also noted that Imo State has been good example in the areas of good governance and the development of human capital and infrastructure, and added that that the Governor had sustained this through the selection of professionals in his cabinet which Hon Eric uwakwe is part of. Furthermore, he acknowledged the Governor’s efforts in the areas of security of lives and property of the citizens, improved ease of doing business, attraction of foreign direct investment, self-sustenance and good ethical conduct in the implementation and delivery of government’s projects and services.


He also saluted the Special adviser on youth,Hon Eric uwakwe for his courage and commitment in building an enduring culture of good corporate governance and ethics in his office and in the management of the affairs of the youths in Imo State.


In his response, the special adviser ,Hon Eric uwakwe onbehalf of the Governor once again thanked the members of Mbaise youth joint taskforce for their visit, and for the detailed and exciting speech. He added that the state Government would do her best to partner with them and attend to the requests made and be ‘gracious’ to mbaise people.


Hon Eric uwakwe thereafter enumerated the plans of shared prosperity administration to make Imo State secured, liveable by all and meet international development standards in terms of ensuring peace, security and infrastructure needs as a mega city, and solicited the support and cooperation of members of the Mbaise nation in order to bring the Governors plans to fruition for the people of Imo State.


The meeting ended at about 3pm with exchange of pleasantries, as well as taking of group photographs
