THE SHARED PROSPERITY ADMINISTRATION OF GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA MOVES TO SAVE LIVES OF CONSUMERS IN IMO STATE

 


Earlier today the Director General of Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Imo State, Hon. Mrs Lucy Obioma Okafor and her management team supervised the public destruction of expired and adulterated products which were seized by CPC enforcement team during their routine inspection tour.

Speaking after the exercise, the Director General expressed dismay at the volume of expired and adulterated products on the shelves. She reiterated the Commission's determination towards saving the lives of Imolites by checkmating what is consumed.

She sounded a note of warning to perpetrators to desist from indulging in such criminal acts and warned that time has gone when Imo state is perceived as a dumping place for fake products. "Under my watch, there won’t be any room for corruption or compromise in Imo CPC and all expired and adulterated products seized by the Commission will be destroyed", she added. 

The Director General, encouraged the general public to drum support for the Commission in this fight under the 3S mantra of "You see, You say and CPC Sorts".

Speaking at the event, the Head of Operations  CPC Imo State, Chief Linus Onwukaike, stressed the need for and encouraged Imolites to be enlightened on how to dictate fake and counterfeit products in order not to fall victims.


On his part, Mr. Augustine Igwchi, Head of Surveillance, spoke on the challenges they faced while in the field but reinstated that despite these, life comes first and all necessary actions of the team would be carried out to the fullest.
