GOVERNMENT OF IMO STATE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR SPECIAL ADVISER ON YOUTH AFFAIRS IMO STATE GOVERNMENT, AFFIRMS NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF IMO STATE STUDENTS (NAISS) AS THE APEX STUDENT BODY OF ALL IMO STATE STUDENTS NATIONWIDE AND IN DIASPORA; AS HON ERIC UWAKWE MEETS WITH MEMBERS OF NATIONAL UNION OF IMO STATE STUDENTS (NUISS) URGING THEM TO REVERT TO STATUS-QUO, BY JOINING NAISS.

 

The Governor of Imo state, His Excellency,  Governor Hope Uzodimma through his Special Adviser on Youth Affairs, Hon Eric Uwakwe has affirmed and endorsed the National Association of Imo State Students (NAISS) as the only recognised umbrella body of Imo state students across the whole tertiary  institutions in Nigeria and diaspora.

The Special Adviser, made this categorically known today, when the executive members of the breakaway organisation, National Union of Imo State Students (NUISS) paid him a courtesy visit to woo him to approve of their activities and grace their proposed inauguration of purportedly elected executive members. Hon Eric Uwakwe urged them  to revert to status-quo by Joining NAISS so as to have a united front.

He informed them, that the Imo State Government does not have any record of any association called NUISS, thereby making  their operations and existence  illegal and non-existent from ab initio thus becoming  inimical to the unity and gregarious co-existence of Imo state students both nationally and globally.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Affairs, took time to ventilate with the NUISS delegates on the issues that brought about the illegal breakaway organisation they represent and told them that this present Government, by her 3R mantra is committed to restoring Imo Students back to their glorious and united  status under the mother umbrella body of NAISS.

He therefore urged the delegates of  NUISS who visited him to inform their  members  to return to Status-quo and focus on actualizing a purposeful administration and governance with NAISS Executive. 

The SA called upon all well meaning Imolites, Groups and most importantly Imo Youths and Students and the General Public to  give credence to NAISS alone as the only existing umbrella Students Body for Imo State Student, and discourage any attempt by anyone to balkanize the Association.
