The Managing Director of the Imo State oil producing area development commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Charles Orie, has disclosed that the oil commission, undertook over fifty (50) life changing projects across Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and some parts of Oru East, within the last two years of Governor Hope Uzodinma's administration.
Chief Charles Orie, disclosed this, today, in Owerri, during an interface with newsmen in his office. Chief Orie maintained that his administration has recorded an unprecedented achievements as the MD of ISOPADEC, and that he will continue to see the development of the oil producing local government areas as his utmost priority, in his position as the managing director of ISOPADEC, noting that the people of the hydrocarbon communities are now witnessing practical projects contrary to the old tradition or method that previous occupants ran the place.
He asserted that while majority of the projects he had carried out, were completely new, few were designed for massive renovation and remodelling, and furthered that since the inception of his administration, projects such as the building of primary and secondary schools classroom blocks, construction of health centers, construction of general hospitals, construction of roads, construction of security houses, construction and installation of central borehole water and installation of solar power, have either been completed or nearing completion across the oil producing communities.
Chief Charles Orie, who assured that very soon ISOPADEC will rolled out programs for the youths in order to minimize youth restiveness, recapped that ISOPADEC under his leadership, will continue to be people based and service oriented, geard towards ameliorating the age long sufferings of the People of the oil rich communities occasioned by the regrettable neglect of the past, while thanking Governor Hope Uzodinma, for giving him every support needed, to deliver strategic projects for the hydrocarbon communities.
To see things for themselves, the members of the media team, were later conducted round some project sites in Ohaji clan. Some of the communities they visited were Umuokanne and Mgbirichi. In Umuokanne, the team met a modern general hospital project, nearing completion, the construction of 6 classroom blocks located at town school Umuokanne, still ongoing and a completely renovated health centre in Mgbirichi.
