The leadership and members of The Asiwaju Group (TAG) join other well-meaning Nigerians to congratulate the Plateau State Governor, H.E. Governor Simon Lalong on his well-deserved appointment as the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council and extend the congratulatory message to the Honourable Minister of State, Labour and Employment, HM Festus Keyamo SAN, also appointed as the Campaign Spokesperson.
According to TAG's National Coordinator, Hon Oyinkansola Okewoye, Gov Lalong and HM Keyamo have, over the years, proved their competency to deliver, and we believe that their current assignments will ensure a safe return of the All Progressives Congress, especially the people's mandate of the incoming President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Senator Kashim Shettima in 2023 general elections.
"The appointments have come at a time when Nigeria needs proactive, fierce and issue-focused political advocates to drive the campaign that would lead to the re-engineering of the nation and the birth of a new Nigeria with improved security, economic prosperity, qualitative education, healthcare, infrastructural development and innovation.
“As we embark on the campaign trail to secure Tinubu's mandate, we want to acknowledge the sacrifices and contributions of all stakeholders and our members who have endeavoured to keep our party united, and our governance successful. We urge the PCC to do all they can legally to ensure electoral victory for the APC in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. Okewoye stated.
The appointees' track records of strengthening democracy in Nigeria give us hope that they will be unwavering in their assignments. The roles of DG and Spokesperson will not be easy, particularly in the current political environment. But we are confident that with courage, conviction, and the support of all progressive stakeholders, Gov Lalong and HM Keyamo will make us proud.
