As we celebrate this unbeatable and extraordinary milestone in our journey to nationhood, I Hon. MacDonald Kelechi Ebere, PhD, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Imo State, on behalf of the state working committee and the entire members of our great party heartily felicitate with our President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR .
While we reflect on the journey so far, we take pride in the phenomenal achievements of the APC led administration, particularly in the area of strategic investment in the critical sectors of our economy, as well as the fight against corruption and insecurity . In Imo, we sincerely appreciate and celebrate the uncommon administrative fecundity and leadership prowess of our dynamic Governor, His Excellency, Dist.Sen Hope Uzodimma (Onwa Oyoko), who has distinguished himself as a rare statesman, through the diligent implementation of a social contract with Imolites, as anchored in the 3R mantra of recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the shared prosperity administration. Within two and half years in office, Governor Uzodimma has restored the glory of Imo State through the completion of significant infrastructural projects such as;
I)Owerri-Orlu road
II)Owerri-Okigwe road phase 1
III)Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Imo State House of Assembly complex
IV)Construction of a new state of the art Exco Chambers.
V)Reconstruction and rehabilitation of Mgbidi-Orlu road.
VI)Reconstruction and rehabilitation of Nekede-Ihiagwa road phase 1
VII) Rehabilitation of Emmanuel College and Umezurike Hospital road.
VIII) Reconstruction of Onitcha -Orlu road Egbeada bypass.
We won't forget in a hurry some of the rehabilitated intercity road networks like;
I)Relief market road
II)Dick tiger road
III)Ihechiuwa street
IV) Aladinma ring road
V) And urban renewal projects
We cannot forget the audacious recovery of Adapalm , Standard Shoe Industry, Acharaubo Farm Settlement, Imo concord hotel and casinos, as well as other public and private properties hitherto converted to personal use like the Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ogboko, the university which was built with over 40 billion Naira of state funds but was appropriated by a former Governor of the state.
We cannot but thank God for the gift of Governor Uzodimma as a Governor and leader at a time like this in our collective history. We use this occasion to demonstrate our appreciation of his selfless commitment to the socio-economic development and recovery of our dear state .
