"Challenges in government are inevitable but temporal, and can not determine the progress of our state. It is a prove that this government is one with good plans but are being opposed by the enemies of the people, but we are winning. There might be little challenges been faced by this administration now, but I encourage us all to remain steadfast, focused and not loose hope in this administration because the visions and mission of his Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodimma remains clear and will not be truncated by this current challenges".
These were the admonitions of the Special Adviser to the governor of Imo State on Youth Affairs, Hon. Eric Uwakwe yesterday, when a delegation of female youth representatives from the 27 local governments, led by Lolo Osunde Amaka, the director of Imo female youths paid a solidarity visit to his office.
The visit availed the delegates the opportunity to interact with Hon. Eric Uwakwa on the insecurity in the state and how it affects the youths.
While speaking, the director of female youth matters and leader of the delegation, Lolo Osunde Amaka started by appreciating the state government led by His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma on the strategic and pragmatic security steps his administration has taken so far in addressing the issue of insecurity in the state, and also appealed that His Excellency take more steps to ensure that the perpetrators of this evil in the state are brought to book and prosecuted accordingly.
They went further to identify that in situations of insecurity, women are mostly vulnerable and affected. They further encouraged the governor to not allow miscreants and criminal elements truncate the peace that Imo has always been known for.
Addressing the delegation, Hon. Eric Uwakwe welcomed the delegation and appreciated for the solidarity shown to the administration of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma, and assured them that government will continue to do everything possible to ensure that peace and stability is returned to the State.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of concern shown by the youths in ensuring that insecurity is fought to the standstill. He further admonished them to always support government and not loose hope in the Administration of Hope Uzodimma, declaring that it has come to redeem Imo State and instill development.
Hon. Eric Uwakwe maintained that the protection of lives and properties remains the utmost priority of this administration, and assured that insecurity will never be allowed to dominate the State.
