Politics is the struggle for power, with the sole aim of improving the lives of the people. Hence, if you say politics is a contest of ideas, you're not wrong.
At the Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo campaign organisation, we believe that the people should be at the center of our campaign, that's why, all through our tours and campaign messages, one thing was constant: How to make A New Anambra Possible and make the future of children better than ours.
At our tours, we only discuss what matters to the people: how to attract investments and build industrial parks across Anambra state in order to trigger the private sector and the massive jobs that will come from it. We speak about providing a conducive atmosphere for education and industrial skill acquisition to lay a knowledge based path for the state. We say that health is wealth and that we must increase funding to the health sector if we must increase the life expectancy in our state and improve the standards of living. These are what our messages are about- ideas, ideas and ideas.
While we have kept speaking of hope and ideas in our tours, some others, lacking in ideas or any form of creative imagination but hold perpetual admiration for mischievousness, spend all their time cooking falsehood and propaganda. In their weird thought process, all is fair in war and politics is war. This is wrong. Politics is not war but a contest of ideas built around how to make the life of the people better.
We do not begrudge them for offering only falsehood, as they say, you can't give what you don't have. We don't intend to wrestle with them in their turf, as the playwright, Mark Twain advised: " Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you to their level and beat you with experience"
One thing is sure, when they go low, we will continue to go high. Our campaign is about the people. We have no time for distractions. At the Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo campaign Council we spend countless hours thinking of how to make Anambra better. We envision a state where there would be enough jobs to halt the continuous skilled and knowledge migration from Anambra state to other parts of Nigeria, mostly the Western States. We envision a state where the youths take primacy in the administration of our state and where business men and women as well as investors are satisfied with the investment climate to keep investing. This is what we think about.
For us, politics has its moral burden and duty. We will always take the higher moral burden and our duty is to ensure that the people, the party members are protected and shielded from perennial, manipulative and narcissistic aspirants.
We agree with Michelle Obama, when they go low, we go high.
