Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah, the Minister of State for Education has requested members of the public, especially those of the APC to be steadfast in their love for the present administration and the ruling party.
Speaking when he was hosted by one of the newly appointed LGA Sole Administrator, Hon Hamilton Chinasa Opara, at his Mbieri , Mbaitoli council residence, Opiah said that the APC needs the support of the members at this crucial moments especially now elections are drawing nearer.
The Minister of State for Education disclosed that the Buhari administration means well for Nigerians adding that a back up for the party from Nigerians will result to full gains of democracy dividends.
While noting that the entire world and not only Nigeria is passing through hard times, Rt Hon Opiah who addressed the gathering at the country home of his host, offered that only support to the ruling party at the federal level and the administration of Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State in the state can bring benefits of good governance to the masses.
He urged them to be law-abiding and supportive of polices of government at all levels.
The Minsiter further asked the people to disregard agents of distablization who for selfish reasons want to make the the state and country ungovernable adding that their negative desires won't see the light of the day.
Rt Hon Opiah used the opportunity to appreciate the new SOLAD of Mbaitoli LGA who took out time to host him and his entourage at his county home.
Hon Hamilton Chinasa Opara in his response poured encomium on the Minsiter after hailing his appointment as one of the best from President Muhamadu Buhari in recent times.
The council SOLAD said that the people of Imo are not only in joyful mood over his appointment but also proud of him for what he has done so far few weeks after swearing in as a minister of state for education.
Meanwhile in a related development, the minister last weekend was at Umuneke Ugiri in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State to console the family of two-time lawmaker who represented Isiala Mbano State Consitiueny in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Simeon Iwunze.
The Iwunzes lost their matriarch, Nneoma Roseline Nnenna Iwunze aged 87 years.
The minister told the Iwunzes to take solace and bear Mama's death in good mind since she was a devout christian mother who took care of not just her children but those who came across her during lifetime.
"I urge the Iwunzes and those Mama inspired to find solace in the examplary life she lived, and in God's promise of a resurrection, when we shall meet to part no more"
Rt Hon Opiah's sympathy visit was remarkable as the Minister and Hon Iwunze, popularly known as Whiteman were colleagues when the former was the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly (2007-2011)
